I found Oscar and the Quality 1st Maintenance team through their amazing Google reviews, but what I got was 10x better than I ever could have imagined. I recently moved into a flip and, to both of our surprise, discovered feet of concrete and bricks stuffed in the middle of my chimney — meaning my hot water heater and gas line weren’t venting properly. Oscar and his team quite literally saved my life. When you buy a new home, you never know what surprises are waiting behind the walls. Oscar went above and beyond to make sure I was safe, that the job was done correctly, and that they’d leave with absolutely no trace they were ever there. Mid-project, they had to open a wall, and not only did they patch the drywall, but they painted it, too — you’d never know it was touched. He took the time to explain everything in detail so I could actually understand the process, documented every step, and made me feel like a true partner in the project. The chimney looks amazing and they did it all in less than half a day. Highly recommended! I brought them back for another job. My brick chimney needed a full re-pointing (that is, grinding out some of the original mortar and refilling the gaps). It was two-days of hard work.
